White Sox Sign Veteran Outfielder Austin Slater

The Chicago White Sox, looking to add a veteran presence to its lineup, signed 32-year-old outfielder Austin Slater to a one-year, $1.75 million contract in November of 2024. Although Slater underperformed in 2024, he had a solid three-year stretch with the San Francisco Giants from 2021 to 2023. He is likely to be the team’s starting right fielder in 2025, with Andrew Benintendi in left and Luis Robert Jr. in center.
